SCA 5K Run

Saturday, May 6, 2023
Race Begins – 8:30 am
Check In – 7:00 am 

The SCA 5K is part of the Shalom Dutchfest. The race starts and ends on the Shalom campus. The 5K course begins and ends at Shalom’s soccer field, crosses the picturesque Conococheague Creek and goes over rolling country roads. The course is mostly asphalt but there is a portion that is grass.

5K Divisions: 8 & Under, 9-10, 11-12, 13-14, 15-16, 17-20, 21-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60+. 1st place medals will be awarded to the male and female winner of each division. $50 prize for male & female over-all winner.

Kids Activities

The Shalom DUTCHFEST offers activities for children of all ages – check out the tractor pulled barrel ride, bounce houses, petting zoo, and more.

A balloon artist is scheduled to appear on Saturday from 10:00 am to 1:00 pm – tokens only will be accepted for balloon art.

All Children’s Activities require a wristband, no tokens will be used except for the balloon artist and full face painting. Wristbands can be purchased at the Information Booth.

Some activities may be cancelled due to weather. We apologize for the inconvenience. Not responsible for accidents.

SCA Fun Walk

The SCA 1K Fun Walk will be held on Saturday, May 6 at 8:30 am. The cost is $20 and includes a free t-shirt if registered by Wednesday, April 12. The cost will increase to $25 on Thursday, April 13.

Mr. Shaker and Shalom teachers will lead all contestants on the fun walk. There will be several stops for challenge exercises (not tough ones). All students in PreK* through 2nd grade are eligible to participate in the challenge. Space is limited to the first 60 participants.
*Please note – PreK students must have parent/guardian accompany them.

Used Book Sale

Hundreds of used books (fiction, non-fiction, children’s, cooking, and more!) are available for a bargain – we also have magazines and movies. Priced to sell!

Please note the new location for the book sale this year – in the high school art room off the lobby near the main entrance.

SCA Cornhole Tournament

Middle School Division – Friday, May 5th, 5:30 – 7:00 pm
High School Division – Friday, May 6th, 7:00 – 8:30 pm
Open Division (Any Age) – Saturday, May 6th 12:00 – Finish
The cost is $20 per team and registration is due by Thursday, May 4.

This is a double elimination tournament. Games are played to 21 or more points (no bust). “All Points Count” scoring for the entire tournament.
Prizes: 1st Place $100, 2nd Place $40

Participants will need to use provided bags. Can not use your own bags. Teams must be present when it is their turn to play or they will forfeit that game. If you have any questions, contact Mr. Hoover at
